DAT Load Board Integration with Cortex Freight Opportunities
Today I’m excited to show you our integration with DAT inside Cortex Freight Opportunities. This integration allows you to instantly pull load opportunities directly from DAT and have them automatically scored using our custom metrics, so you can immediately see which loads are actually worth your time.
Instead of scrolling through multiple pages on the load board and manually evaluating each posting, Cortex does the heavy lifting for you. Let me show you how it works.
Searching for Loads
At the top of the screen, you’ll see the Search DAT button. When you click into that, you can define your search parameters just like you would in DAT. For example, let’s enter a lane from Dallas, Texas to Chicago, Illinois, select an equipment type of dry van 53, and apply any date range or additional filters you need. Click Search DAT, and behind the scenes Cortex reaches out to DAT, pulls in all loads that match your criteria, and automatically imports them into your opportunities page.
Scoring and Prioritizing
Here’s where this gets powerful. At the top of the results, you can filter by load board to isolate just those DAT results, then simply sort by opportunity score. Just like that, your highest-scoring loads rise to the top.
These scores are based on the custom metrics you’ve defined — whether that’s margin potential, lane preference, historical performance, or any other criteria that’s important to your business. So instead of spending time reviewing dozens or even hundreds of postings, you’re immediately focused on the loads that best fit your strategy.
Taking Action
Once you identify a load you want to pursue, simply click into it. Under Actions, you’ll find contact information pulled directly from DAT, including the broker or shipper’s phone number and email address. From there, you can quickly reach out and move forward to secure the load.
