Hello and thank you for joining us today. My name is Chase, and in this video, we’re diving into tools, tips, and tricks to help you run a more efficient, more profitable operation.
We’re focusing on one of our key Routes to Value: Boosting Profitability. Now, there’s no magic button to grow profit, but the right tools and real visibility can show you what’s working, what’s not, and where you’re leaking money. With the right data in hand, you can make smarter decisions and prepare for market changes before they hit your bottom line.
Let’s start small and scale up. First, visibility. PCS TMS gives you a line-of-sight into everything—from the customer to the truck, the driver, and even the type of carrier. For example, if I log a $250 repair bill for a truck, I can tag it back to that exact unit. Later, when I pull a profit-and-loss report by truck, I’ll see exactly how much that asset is making—or costing me. The same goes for trailers, load numbers, and even individual drivers.
You can allocate charges directly to a driver’s account as well. Say an owner-operator blows a couple of tires—we can pay the shop but assign that cost to the driver. Next payroll cycle, that $250 gets settled automatically. No more backtracking or guesswork.
This level of visibility isn’t just for bills—it applies to invoices, checks, deposits, journal entries. Every transaction in PCS can be tied to the source that matters most: load, truck, driver, customer.
Now let’s zoom out and look at the big picture. PCS makes reporting real. I can pull an income statement and quickly see which divisions are profitable. Maybe drive-in is killing it while intermodal’s dragging down the average. Then I can run that same report as a year-over-year comparison. Flatbed might be down, reefer might be up. Maybe intermodal isn’t even worth it anymore.
That’s how you start cutting what’s not working and leaning into what is. Real-time insights. Real dollars. Real decisions. And that’s how you boost profitability—with visibility that leads to action.
