Hey everyone, Jason here with Greatway Transportation uses PCs as a one-stop shop for recruiting, compliance, and dispatch, streamlining driver onboarding and operations. and I’m with Sarah from Greatway Transportation.
How many trucks are you guys now?
We are right about in the ballpark—505, maybe 700 trucks. That’s awesome! We go anywhere from 5 to 10 trucks to 506–700 trucks, and it’s cool that we have a company your size here showing that we are for the big guys, what we offer, and things like that.
What do you use PCS mainly for?
Everything, all of it. But me personally, where I sit in the office is recruiting and bringing the drivers in—a lot of driver compliance and safety. I’m the first one to put the driver into the system and get all of his stuff set up and all of his uploads. The same thing for the trucks too. With owner-operators, we’re putting them all in the system.
So when you put them in the system and create them in Mobile Express, you show them how to use that side of their end. One thing that I hear back from people on your end is they love PCS because it’s so easy to show the drivers, and that application process is just five minutes and they know how to use it. Front end, getting them set up in orientation—we just give them their username, their login, which is their email address, and then that six-digit code is the password. Then we let them know all their dispatches are coming right through there. Once it’s completed, it goes to the other side. Super simple.
I loved it because once I onboarded a new driver on it, I never got questions about it again. They knew how to use it because it was so simple.
After sitting through some of the things at this summit, what’s something that maybe you’re excited for in the future of PCS?
Cora has got my attention. It’s so cool because it’s such a time saver. I know we would spend three or four hours sometimes on one driver just looking for a backhaul. When you have somebody doing that, you can take care of all the other issues—they’re making a thousand phone calls at a time. So really streamlining your process.
What’s one way that PCS has really revolutionized or helped make your job easier?
It’s been a one-stop shop. I’d say it’s in recruiting. We’re big on 10th Street—that isn’t also the intake, but nobody else in the company sees what we see on that application. So PCS has been our avenue of channeling all that information, whether it be about the truck, the driver, and all that stuff. It’s the one-stop shop for every single department in our company. We have outside tools here and there to assist us in doing our job, but PCS is it—it’s a one-stop shop.
Cool. Well, thank you so much.
Thank you.
